RECOMMENDED USES
For use on clean and properly prepared floors, decks, and other walking surfaces, painted or unpainted, exterior or interior applications. The All Deck Coating System is suitable for coating concrete, wood, asphalt, diato, magnesite, birdseed, stone, hot mop, masonry, metal or previously coated surfaces. It is recommended that a test area be applied to determine actual color appearance. If in doubt as to product use or application, consult manufacturer.
CHARACTERISTICS
All Deck System is a specially formulated, multi-layered acrylic coating system consisting of FIBERGLASS MAT, ALL DECK LAMINATING RESIN, ALL DECK TEXTURED BASECOAT, and ALL DECK FINISH RESIN. Its unique protective properties provide an environmentally friendly, durable surface that is flexible, weatherproof, waterproof, cooler than concrete, and skid resistant. The complete coating system is approximately 1/16” thick.
SPREAD RATE
The All Deck coating system should be applied at the following spread rates: Laminating Resin, 50 sq. feet per gallon. Textured Basecoat, 100 sq. feet per gallon. Finish Resin @ 100-125 sq ft per gal.
DRYING AND CURING TIMES
Laminating Resin is dry to the touch in 3-6 hours. Textured Basecoat is dry to the touch in 2-4 hours. Finish Resin is dry to the touch in 30 minutes to 1 hour. Overall curing time is 2–3 weeks. The coated surface can be walked on when dry to the touch. DO NOT place heavy objects upon surface until completely dried and cured. Place plastic underneath heavy pots, to prevent scarring.
CLEAN UP
Clean tools and equipment quickly and easily with soap and tap water. Keep a clean bucket of tap water next to work areas to soak tools in during application process.
WARNING
It is advisable to wear a particle mask when mixing the Basecoat Resin with the Aggregate. It is also advisable to wear a particle mask, a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and gloves when handling the Fiberglass Mat.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Clean and prepare surface. Fill small holes, cracks, and defects with All Deck Patching Compound. Allow to dry completely.
FIBERGLASS MATS AND LAMINATING RESIN APPLICATION
Apply 3/4 oz. Fiberglass Mat to horizontal surface and cover up walls 2” – 4” using Laminating Resin for adhesion. Do not overlap seams. Leave 1/16” space between pieces of Fiberglass Mat. Pour Laminating Resin over the Fiberglass Mat into a puddle and spread with a 1/2″-3/4″ nap synthetic paint roller. “Cut-in” coved areas using a synthetic bristle paint brush, until it saturates and bonds the mat to the surface. The Laminating Resin soaks through the fiberglass mat, encapsulating the strands, to form the waterproof membrane. Once the fiberglass mat has dried, a thin layer of Patching Compound is used to feather out all seams and edges.
After Patching Compound has dried, combine and thoroughly mix 1 gallon of Basecoat liquid with one pail of Aggregate (Spray, Roll, or Sports Aggregate). Apply mixture with either a synthetic paint roller, synthetic paint brush, trowel, or acoustic hopper gun with a small air compressor. All vertical edges should first be “cut in” and stippled with tip of a synthetic paint brush before texturing the horizontal surface. *Be sure that you use Regular Formula aggregate to trowel or spray on material; and Roll Formula aggregate to roll or brush on material.
FINISH RESIN APPLICATION
The Finish Resin is applied to the entire surface including coving, with a synthetic paint roller and synthetic paint brush.
**If more than one container of Finish Resin is being used, mix all containers together before application, to assure uniform color and finish.
